Fire Circles

“Coming to a fire circle with Sam is like taking a step out of real life into a much nicer world. She holds the space with such generosity, warmth, and kindness that I felt myself settling in the moment I arrived. So seldom do we have a moment to reflect and be thankful, to sing together (if you want to), to truly step away from the demands of life, and to replenish ourselves surrounded by likeminded people—and this is what Sam offers us with her Fire Circles.” - Jennie S

What are Fire Circles?

I run circles outside in nature, holding space for people to press pause on their everyday lives. Pausing together in community and communing with the natural world, enables us to re-orient ourselves, to reconnect to our earth home, to each other and to ourselves.

We can set new coordinates for the paths we are walking and begin to shed the things that are not serving our journey, enabling us to navigate our lives with greater clarity.

Acknowledging nature’s cycles and rhythms, acknowledging our own cycles and rhythms and finding ways to navigate ourselves home to ourselves. Together we find ways to align ourselves to our authentic needs, by sitting in circle, being a witness and being witnessed. Placing our intentions on the ceremonial fire enables us to strengthen our sense of our connection to all things, and to find ourselves in a greater flow.

Sitting in circle we ask ourselves:

  • Where am I?

  • Where do I want to go?

  •  What is working for me?

  •  What can I start to let go of?

We drop into deep appreciation for what we do have.

  • We drop into a deeper connection with the natural world and the natural rhythms of the moon and the seasons.

  • We drop into a deeper connection with each other.

  • We drop into a deeper connection with ourselves.

I have sat in circle for each of the eight festivals on the Celtic wheel of the year for the last 15 years.

I have also spent three years apprenticed to the Native American teachings of the delicate lodge with Sue Goodwin and spent several years studying the Inkan nature wisdom teachings with Elizabeth Jenkins.

These studies and explorations have imparted to me the importance of building a reciprocal relationship with the natural world.

This meditation creates an opportunity to come home to ourselves and to build a reciprocal connection to the natural world. It is expansive, yet grounding & empowering.
